Today was my slow day. Thank goodness. I have been on the go for the past couple of weeks and I needed a day off. Wish it lasted longer though.
My friend Heather called today and asked that I babysit her 2 kids this afternoon until really late at night...or around 2 or 3 in the am actually. Not a big deal for us to babysit. The kids all get along and have fun. I think her oldest, who is also in Austin's class, is going to spend the whole night and she'll go to school with Austin in the morning. And she'll probably just come get her son when they get home. She pays me when I watch her kids. Normally I dont let people pay me. I just swap kiddos. But she owns her own business and doesnt have time for swapping. So I really dont mind.
She also offered me a job. I didnt say I was looking...which Im not. But it sounds like a pretty good deal. She owns her own business and needs someone to do some paperwork for her. Which is something I can do at home. And she said she doesnt have the room to hire anyone to come up to the office anyway. So she asked me to do it. I'll be paid minimum wage. We'll get into more details tomorrow. But it sounds like a good way to earn a little cash for the holidays.
Tonight I might be going to a meeting at the USO and meet other wives from the boat. Depends on how the kids are acting and if Matt can handle all of them without me. Im sure he'll tell me to go.
Well, I better go finish cleaning house. Did I mention that today was my slow day? lol
Things were crazy last week and are continuing on through next week. I've had something to do every single day, including the weekends. Im hoping I can get atleast one day next week to just sit and chill out. I did the vision screenings for the school on Thursday and Friday. It took the entire school day, both days. My wrist is starting to hurt from pointing at the symbols.
Thursday I had a party planning meeting with other moms from Austin's class. Im room mom so I have to get it done soon. His party is on the 28th. Going to walmart this evening to get everything.
Yesterday I made invitations and passed them out to friends for our Halloween Cookout we're having. We're having it around 4pm so we can eat and then take the kids trick or treating. But I'll probably stay back and hand out candy with Tristen because the mosquitoes are really bad, and it looks like he's allergic to them. One bit him near the eye and his entire eye swelled shut. Not much to do other than give him benadryl.
Last night I babysat for one of the other moms from Austin's class. Her babysitter just disappeared when she was supposed to be dropping off her kids. So I said I'd do it when she called at the last minute. She really needed a night out. But hey, I got paid 30 bucks for watching her 2 kids for a little over 3 hours. They were really good. And my friend next door and her hubby and kids came over too. They ordered pizza and brought it over and we watched a movie. So we had a full house last night.
This morning I got woke up at 7am by a barking dog. Crazy lady from across the street put her dog out on a leash and left him in the front yard to bark at passerby's and small animals. Its against housing rules to leave your animals unattended outside even if they are on a leash. And the dog wouldnt shut up, so I called security.
Today we are going to Adventure Landing for the USS Halyburton Halloween Party. I emailed the FSG to find out how much it would cost us and I was told that we only had to pay for food and that they had taken care of entrance fees. But then I just looked at the site today to see how to get there and you have to pay for every freaking activity like at Celebration Station! And its expensive! I hope they meant that we're getting to some of the activities for free too. Otherwise, we'll stay for a bit and leave.
Oh yeah...Some news on Austin...
In his class, at the end of the day, they have clips on different pockets depending on how well they behaved at school that day. Star is no problems. Tell, means she had to tell them a rule. Remind means she had to remind them of that rule. And Act, means she had to Act on it, or punish them...time out or something. At the beginning of the year, Austin mostly got Act and Remind. Then it slowly came to Tell and Remind with a few stars here and there. Well this month, so far, he's had 1 Act, 2 Tells and 12 stars. And this last week was the FIRST WEEK EVER to get ALL STARS! So we'll probably let him do something special today too. We are so proud of him! And he's doing better in school too. Report cards were supposed to come out friday, but the district had a problem. So hopefully we will get them next week. I'll let yall know how it looks!
We went to the beach yesterday and had a really good time. We walked along the beach and found 2 really cool shells and 6 sand dollars. Breanna decided that she was going to run around naked and took off her pullup and her swim suit. We actually forgot to take the pull up off after we got there, so it was ok that she took it off. But she had to put her swim suit back on and not be a nudist. She and Austin helped me look for shells and sand dollars. Breanna mostly dug in the sand. Matt put Tristen down and let him crawl on the beach in the shallow waves. He seemed to be ok with it, but I wasnt. I was just afraid he'd eat the sand or get salt water in his face. Forgot to take the camera with us, so no pictures. Sorry. Maybe next time.
Well Friday, we decided to get a new washer and dryer because our dryer broke and our washer smells like mildew and our clothes kinda smell like that too. So we went to Best Buy looking for some cheapies. But we ended up getting something expensive. Its a all in one washer/dryer. Its ONE machine. No, its not stacked. I mean, you put the clothes in the machine and it washes them and then it dries them and then it buzzes to say its finished. Its really neat! And it takes up less space because its only one machine. And it has a delayed timer on it so we can start it in the middle of the night so that it just finishes up in the morning so when I get up to get the Austin off to school, I can take the clothes out and put them up! (haha like I'll stick to that) But its worth a shot! One of our biggest problems is that Matt would put a load of laundry in, and not tell me, and then he'd forget...and then it would stay in there for days, till I smelled it. EWWW. So this way, if it gets left in the machine, its ok, cuz they'd be dry. We're supposed to pick it up on wednesday. We have 30 days to change our mind.
So, of course, this means on Sunday, we have to put out our old washer and dryer. Remember, they dont work. Oh yea, washer works, but it STINKS and its off balance, and Matt kept the hoses cuz they were kind of new. The psycho that lives across the street that cussed me out and called me an f*ing whore because I wouldnt let her son play in MY house or with MY kids...keeps coming across the street and walking back and forth on the sidewalk..."shopping" in our trash. NASTY NASTY NASTY! It really pissed me off. Not that I should care because its trash, but I just didnt want her to have it! She waited until we drove off to go to the beach and then she ran over here and took the washer and dryer! When we got back, she had tried to HIDE them from us by putting a tarp overthem and stacking toys on them on her carport. But duh, it wasnt there before, and we could obviously see what it was. She's a moron. Ok, the part that pisses me off, is that she's probably going to try to sell them. AND THEY DONT WORK! And she wont even check to see if they do, Im sure. Because she's that stupid.
I went over to my friends house and said I guess she shopped and took our broke shit. And they laughed and said YUP SHE SURE DID! As soon as we left she did. But then she told me something I didnt know! Psycho went down the street to ask someone to ask US if they still worked because she didnt want to have to ask me. That was a laugh. But those people said that was stupid and refused to come ask me if they worked for her. So when I was walking home last night and she was being her nosey self and staring at me, I yelled loudly without looking at her...THEY'RE BROKE! And kept walking. She obviously didnt hear me, or didnt comprehend. She's still got them in her carport and today is trash day. Hey, wouldnt you think that if someone had a working washer and dryer, that they would try to sell them or give them to someone, instead of throwing them in the trash? HELLO! She's too scared to talk to me, but she's not too scared to take my trash. I hope they move when her husband gets out of Hospital Corpsman School.
Oh just a little background, she flipped out and cussed me out in front of the kids because I wouldnt let her kid in my house and I dont let her kids play with my kids. And she called Austin stupid in front of him while she was cussing me out. And I was holding Tristen, standing in my door holding the door open and she tried to slam MY door on me and the baby. And she was spitting while she was yelling. And I had to tell her several times to get off of our property. Yeah, we should have called the cops, but Matt said not to. But then when I reported her to our housing office to have it documented, they said that she overstepped big time and that we should have called the cops because she's been in trouble with housing before and he cant do anything unless we call the cops. Sounds like housing wants her gone too. So next time, we're supposed to call. Well later, Breanna ran off from our friends house towards psycho's house and then on behind the houses. So I ran that way to get her. And Breanna is screaming and crying. I couldnt figure out if she was mad or hurt or scared. Some dogs were barking so I figured she was scared. So I picked her up and Im trying to calm her down and go home, and psycho comes running over to me and is trying to talk to me while Im obviously busy. She tells me she's so sorry for the other day blah blah blah. But ya know what. Sorry doesnt make what she did better. She called me a whore, told Austin's other friend not to come to our house and play and called Austin stupid. There's no going back on that. So I just said "mmmhmmm" rolled my eyes and kept walking and talking to Breanna. Anyways...2 weeks ago, she comes walking across the street while me and the kids were in the front yard and on the way over, asks me if the kids wanted to play bubbles with her kids... Um...OMG! I gave her a look like "you've got to be kidding" and said, "Uh, hello!? Our kids still CANT play together...EVER! PERIOD!" and she just stopped walking and backed up and nervously laughed and told her kids..."ok kids, she said no, lets go do something else." and she quickly disappeared.
And everytime we go outside, she seems to be outside staring at us. And she's been having some trashy looking friends over there too and THEY stare at us too! I just wanna yell, got anything better to do?! I just wish it didnt bother me so much. But she lives directly across the street from us. And I cant stand her. And I have to see her every freaking day!
Well its finally Friday. No school today. Teacher work day or something. Im watching my friend's daughter today. The kids are getting along pretty well. Just a bunch of screaming I could do without. But, hey, they're kids. I gotta figure out what to do about naptime with the extra child in the house. Breanna and Tristen really need a nap, but I dont know if I can get them both to take one today. Maybe a movie will help with that.
Matt said he took a bunch of really good pictures the other day. Too bad he didnt read the camera screen when it said NO MEMORY STICK. What a goober. Well the camera is all charged up and its got its memory stick, maybe we can get some pictures this weekend.
Tomorrow Im supposed to meet my friend Amy in Tallahassee. She's a friend from High School. She lives in Panama City Beach, FL. And Tallahassee is about half way. 3 hours for us, 2 1/2 for her. We're still trying to figure out where to meet in Tallahassee for lunch. But Im sure we'll find something. Outback sounds good, but I dont think they open early enough.
I better get back to the kiddos and make sure they're not burning down the house lol. I'll check back in later this weekend. Hopefully with some pics!
Yesterday Matt woke up and decided that he was going to spoil me. He said whatever I wanted to do, I could do. I said I wanted to get a haircut and maybe a perm. Well, I didn't get that. He decided to take me to the spa instead. I spent 5 hours at the spa. It was great. I got my eyebrows waxed, an hour Swedish massage, 20 mins at the oxygen bar, spa manicure, spa pedicure, lunch and an hour facial. It was awesome! The oxygen bar is really neat. You put these tubes on your nose, like at the hospital and you breath in scented oxygen. Each scent is supposed to do something for your body. I picked eucalyptus because I was stuffed up with allergies and its supposed to help open up your sinuses. It worked great! For lunch they made this great salad that had strawberries, grilled chicken, feta cheese and a sweet dressing that I think had honey in it. I'm not sure what kind of salad leaves they used either. I know some of it was spinach, but there was something else that I've never eaten before. It was delicious! I also got a muffin and a cookie. I could have had wine the whole time I was there, but I chose to drink water. I drank like 6 glasses of water while I was there. I usually don't drink that much in a day, let alone 5 hours. I really enjoyed my day. Everyone kept asking if it was my birthday or anniversary. I just said "nope, Matt said he was doing it because I deserved it and he loved me." Of course everyone at the spa thinks Matt is the best husband ever. He definitely has his moments!
Thursday my phone didnt have a dial tone, but I still had internet for most of the day. I had to use my cell phone to report the problem. That used up about an hour of my minutes. Then right after I get off the phone with them, my internet died on me. They said they would have it working by SATURDAY. 3 days without my phone or internet is crazy. And when people called, it didnt say the lines were down. It just gave a busy signal. So people that called me thought I was on the phone all day. Or that I had dial up. HAHA yeah right. They finally got it fixed Saturday EVENING. It was a real pain. We couldnt do our bills when we had planned to, so a couple might be late now. Maybe we shouldnt rely on online bills and bill pay anymore. I think Im going to call bellsouth on monday to ask for a credit to our account for 3 days. I wont take no for an answer.
This was Breanna's second time at the beach. She doesnt play in the water very much, but she likes running from the waves. Austin is learning how to body surf with the boogey board. Tristen is scared of the waves, so we dont put him in the water at all. It was pretty windy. I didnt think I was going to get in the water when we left the house, but it was so nice, I ended up in the water anyway. Here are some pictures that Daniel didnt want anyone to see. But to make up for it, I posted my embarrassing goofy pictures too. Enjoy!
