Rach and I decided to go out for the night without the guys and without the kids. The Secret Handshake was in town, so we went to see Luis play. In case you don't know. The Secret Handshake is who Joshua was in the music video with. It sucked at first because the opening band didnt show up. And I guess there was some screw up with advertising so not many people showed up. When they were playing their set, nobody stood anywhere near the stage. Everyone was sitting or standing in the back of the room. The ironic thing was that after all the bands had played a lot of people kept saying how much they liked their music tonight. But how could you tell, nobody got up front!! Anyways. The 2nd band, Near Miss was pretty good too. They were pretty funny and cool to talk to. The 3rd band, don't even know who they were, didnt freaking tune their intruments and they sounded like crap. They were actually supposed to be the opening band but they got there so late that they played last.
Everyone got up front for the last two bands. Not sure why nobody got up for The Secret Handshake if they were so great as so many people said. Which they were!! The last song Rach and I stood up front with 3 other people cuz Luis said something about singing to people on the otherside of a football field.
I did have fun though. Got to meet some talented people. Got a headache from some not so talented people and found a new place to hear the kind of music Rach and I like. We'll probably go back and check out some other bands.
At the end of the night we brought Luis and Patrick of The Secret Handshake back to my place to spend the night. They didnt need to spend money on a hotel room when they were welcome here. We hit up Walmart on the way home and hooked them up with some goodies for the trip. Can't have starving artists can we? After that we went to KRISPY KREME!!!! 3 dozen donuts!!! I think they're set for junk food.
