Just found out tonight that over the next 15 months, Matt will be deployed for 11 of them.
Today has been pretty good. Got woke up early this morning for my ombudsman stuff, but that's what I volunteered for...24/7. I hope everything works out ok for everyone involved.
Took a friend of mine to the gym with me. She decided to join. I knew the childcare would be a plus for her. So we're going again tomorrow to work out again. We had a great workout today. And we laughed cuz we were really trying hard to do 10 mins on this one machine and it was so hard we only did 5. But atleast we did half. It was a lot of fun.
Then we went to Applebees to eat. The kids were really loud until we got our food. Then of course they were too busy stuffing their faces to be yelling and talking so dang loud.
We came home and had icecream at her place and played for awhile. Then we went home for naps and quiet time. It's quiet time now YIPEE! Get to do it all again tomorrow.
I think I can do this all summer. This day has been great!
Yes I know it. Its been WAY TOO LONG since I've posted an update. Everyone has been bugging me to post some pictures and I was going to until I realized I didnt have any. We bought a video camera and now we use that constantly. I guess I'll just have to make everyone some DVD's. So I guess less pictures and more posting eh?
So here's the goods.
Austin, going on to 2nd grade but will be in a self contained class next year. It will be good for him to have more one on one to get caught up with everyone else by 3rd. We've changed his meds and he's doing so much better on a much lower dose. GO FIGURE! Oh yes, let me tell ya...HE IS AN ARTIST! I guess he gets it from my mom's side of the family. His art work is so awesome, I've been decorating the walls with it. Im so proud of him. And he gets so excited when I hang it up.
Breanna did great in school. She really liked it and is missing it already. I never had a problem getting her on the bus. She hopped and skipped all the way! She made lots of friends and has changed so much. She matured a lot! But we still need to get her potty trained. She doesnt seem to be interested. But that is our project for the summer. I don't like having to pay for pullups and diapers. ITS SO EXPENSIVE!!!
Tristen is my little MAMA'S BOY! He wakes up with a smile and just yells MAMA!!! with the attitude of "HELLO!? ARENT YA GONNA GET ME OUT OF BED? DUH?!" lol its so cute. He walks pretty good but hasnt gotten the RUN part down yet. I chase him with baby steps saying "Im gonna get you" and he just giggles and swings his arms like he's running but his little feet just go slow. He's actually talking a lot too. You can ask him questions and he'll answer by shaking his head yes most of the time. And if its a no, he waves his hands. He's learning a little sign language too. The other day I guess he wanted to take a nap, so he grabbed my hand and we walked to his bedroom and then he slapped his bed and then put his arms up to me so I'd pick him up. I guess he's going to be like Breanna that way. He also lays down in front of me and throws his legs in the air anytime he sees me carrying a diaper for him. He's a smart little man!! Oh yeah and he's officially allergic to MILK and EGGS! Goodness that soy milk gets expensive!!
Matt is out on the ship right now. He'll be back the end of the month. He'll be home for the month of June. Then the end of June he goes on deployment. He'll be back mid Sept and then another deployment beginning of Oct til end of Nov. THEN ANOTHER deployment in Apr or Mar for about 3 months. I cant tell you the specifics because of security reasons, but if you want more vagueness from me, give me a call.
I am the OMBUDSMAN for the ship. For those of you who don't know what that is, I'll tell ya. Im a volunteer appointed by the Commanding Officer to be the liason between the command and the command families. If the families have an emergency while the ship is out, they call me. If they just have questions, they call me. If the CO has info to be passed on, he sends it to me and I send it to the families. Yep, Im the middle man. But I really enjoy helping people and I am enjoying this job so far. It will keep me busy during the deployment. But not so busy that I don't have time for the kiddos. I LOVE MY JOB!
Well I guess that's all for today. GOT QUESTIONS? COMMENT!
